We are running, what turned into a very popular trip last year, a Christmas hats paddle on the Basingstoke canal This is a super safe stretch of water with no portages. Its 9 miles with a break in middle for a stretch, mince pies and hot drink after 4.5 miles ☕️ Christmas hats, festive cheer and festive fodder are compulsory! 🤶🥧🍰 Tamra, Maxine & Jana

This free and fun event runs alternate Sundays that weather permits and is hosted by an outside organisation. Register with AquaPaddle to participate: https://www.aquapaddle.org - please check website first.
It's been likened to the water version of the Park Run.
Although its a paddle challenge you are there to improve your own time and its serious or lighthearted as you choose to make it.
Meet at the club soon after 9 to be the other side of the river* around 9:30am
You can use any craft that you are competent paddling in: kayak, paddle-board or canoe.
The timed 5km launches at 10am from outside the club BUT the safety briefing occurs on the grass other side of the river behind Garricks Temple.
If the river is on yellow this event will move to New Haw - check their website.
